The Harrisburg Academy of Dance™ began in 1983. The goal for the Studio has been to provide the community with a dance school that offers a serious study of dance presented in a positive and fun atmosphere. Whether a student desires to dance professionally or just learn for his or her own enjoyment, proper training is shared in an easy-going and creative environment.
          In addition to our December and June shows, the Studio provides its students the opportunity to perform throughout the year. Many of our students have performed at colleges, festivals, benefits, banquets and other local events. As well as having the experience of performing with a live symphony, the intermediate and advanced ballet students have traveled to New York City to attend master classes taught by the Ballet Master and faculty of The Joffrey School of Ballet. Our students have had the opportunity to take master classes taught at our studio by guest teachers who are Broadway and world-touring professional dancers.
          "The Harrisburg Dance Company" was formed as a way for the serious students to have more performance opportunities and extra rehearsal time. Interested students can work towards the goal of becoming a Company member.
